Position Overview: As a Cloud Infrastructure & Monitoring Engineer, you will be responsible for owning the monitoring and alerting services that manage our cloud resources in Microsoft Azure. You will work on supporting our legacy environment of Windows VMs and MSSQL DBs, as well as developing infrastructure to support our next generation of SaaS products utilising Postgres, Kubernetes, AI Services, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own, upgrade, and improve our monitoring solutions for managing Azure cloud resources.
  • Integrate with our infrastructure as code model using ARM templates, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Create dashboards that help others gain insights into system performance.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Optimize the performance, reliability, and security of cloud infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and automation tools.
  • Document processes, procedures, and best practices for automation and cloud management.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in managing system monitoring tools. We use a mix of Zabbix, Grafana, and Greylog, but experience in other systems is still considered valuable.
  • Proven experience in managing and automating Microsoft Windows based environments.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
  • Strong knowledge of ARM templates and Terraform.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in Azure or cloud technologies.
